Collection of personal data
We do not collect any personal data (e.g. names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses) via our websites, unless you voluntarily provide us with such data (e.g. through registration, surveys, etc.) or, if legally required, have consented to such collection, or the applicable legal provisions relating to the protection of your data permit it.
Legal basis
The legal basis of processing of your personal data is this Contractual relationship including pre-contractual and post-contractual obligations. The data processing takes place only with your consent or contractual basis and / or necessity of the fulfilment of the contract for the purposes agreed with you or if another legal basis exists in accordance with the GDPR.
Our business license in the abrasives industry is the legal basis for the execution of the business purpose. Other legal obligations, such as statutory reporting obligations, are the legal basis for data processing. We process personal data if required by law, as contractually required, or consented thereto. Regarding general promotional activities, we have a legitimate interest in contacting and deepening existing and potential customers
Guarantee of privacy and personal data protection
TYROLIT complies with the legal privacy requirements such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In general, we only process personal data in compliance with these privacy policies. The paragraph below explains how and when TYROLIT collects personal data. Moreover, we may be obligated to perform further data processing within the framework of the laws relating to assisting court or administrative investigations.
Deliberate use of personal data
Most Internet services provided by TYROLIT can be visited without personal registration or disclosure of identity. With certain services, we ask you for your name, a user name and, where applicable, for further personal information. You can decide freely whether or not to provide this information. Without this information, however, TYROLIT is unable to provide the desired service and is unable to answer some of your enquiries.
TYROLIT only stores personal data for as long as necessary for the intended purposes and in compliance with the legal requirements. Should you contact us via the form on the website or by e-mail, the data you provide is stored by us for six months for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for the event of any follow-up questions, provided a business relationship has not already come into being.
If you no longer wish to receive any information, please inform us accordingly.
Confidentiality with regard to personal data
Except in the cases referred to in these privacy policies, TYROLIT will not pass on your data to third parties. Personal data may be disclosed to other TYROLIT companies in Austria and abroad which undertake to treat the personal data in accordance with these privacy policies and to process it for the original purpose for which it was recorded, for example the provision of services, marketing, data processing or technical support.
Your personal data may also be disclosed to a third party if a business location or parts thereof is/are sold, conveyed or transmitted together with the associated customer data. Where necessary and where it can reasonably be expected, you will be required to consent to this. In such a case, we would previously contractually require the buyer or the acquiring party to treat the personal data in accordance with these privacy policies. Likewise, personal data may be disclosed to a third party if we are obligated by law, court order or a government regulation within the framework of the law, or if disclosure of the data is in connection with a court or police investigation in Austria or abroad and is permissible according to the national legislation.
Right of access, rectification, deletion, restriction, data transferability, revocation, objection
TYROLIT endeavours to ensure that the recorded personal data is always correct, up-to-data and reliable with respect to its intended use. We provide you the option of raising an objection against the processing of your personal data, provided the law entitles you to such an option. This applies in particular to marketing activities (right to objection to advertising), provided this does not require your consent in the first place (opt-in). Please contact us if you would like to object to the use of your data for advertising purposes. The same applies if you have questions regarding the use of your personal data. In such a case, please indicate the name of the website where you entered your personal data, identify yourself and let us know what specific information you would like to have corrected, updated or deleted. Requests relating to the deletion of personal data will be responded to taking into account all the applicable legal, archiving and documentation of evidence obligations.

Security and confidentiality
In order to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data recorded by TYROLIT, TYROLIT applies appropriate measures to protect your personal data against loss, abuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, modification and destruction.
If you wish to send us personal data electronically by entering it on our website, your data is transmitted to our web server in encrypted form via the Internet using a state-of-the-art secure connection (SSL). Please note that the transmission of data via e-mail, in contrast, does not generally take place in encrypted form.
Data security for the transmission of data within the Internet cannot be guaranteed in all cases according to the current state-of-the-art. Other users may under certain circumstances be technically in a position to interfere in an unauthorised manner in the network security and control the communications traffic. Please bear this in mind when you contact us.
Data transfer to third parties / abroad
We are a member of the TYROLIT/Swarovski Group, a worldwide group of companies, which owns databases in a variety of countries. TYROLIT processes data in databases outside the country of residence of the person in question. Some of these databases are administered by local TYROLIT companies, others by third parties, which act on behalf of the local company. If your personal data is transmitted to a country whose regulations for the protection of your personal data is less comprehensive than those of your country of residence, TYROLIT ensures that the legal requirements for data export to such a country are appropriately protected and that European law is complied with.
In order to fulfill the contract, it may also be necessary for us to forward your data to third parties (for example, logistics service providers, tax consultants, banks, advertising companies, chambers of commerce, paper shredders, insurance companies and other service providers). Such data transfer takes place exclusively within the framework of the GDPR.
What privacy policies apply?
TYROLIT/Swarovski companies who pass on your personal data from the EU to other countries, must comply with the applicable laws and the TYROLIT guidelines. These require in particular that:

- Your personal data is processed exclusively for precisely defined and legally sound purposes, and is not used for any other purposes

Newsletter
You have the option of subscribing to our Newsletter via our website. For this purpose we require your e-mail address and your declaration that you agree to receiving the Newsletter. As soon as you have registered for the Newsletter, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link for confirmation of the registration. (double opt-in)
The Newsletter will be mailed to you via "MailChimp", a newsletter mailing platform belonging to the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
We have confidence in the reliability and IT, as well as the data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US/EU Privacy Shield data protection agreement and thereby undertakes to adhere to the EU data protection requirements. Furthermore, we have concluded a data processing agreement with them. This takes the form of a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it in accordance with its privacy policy and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. Microsoft Office 365 Collaboration
If required, we can provide you with guest access to Microsoft Office 365 Collaboration using your personal e-mail address to exchange information and support active collaboration. This can be only parts of e.g. Microsoft Teams or the whole Office 365 suite. The service enables chat, meetings, notes, attachments and more, and is hosted in the Microsoft Cloud.
We have confidence in the reliability and IT, as well as the data security of Microsoft. Microsoft is certified under the US/EU Privacy Shield data protection agreement and thereby undertakes to adhere to the EU data protection requirements. Furthermore, we have concluded a data processing agreement with them, in which Microsoft undertakes to protect the data of our users.
Events
For the realization of events, we work together with selected, external service providers, such as Hotels or event companies. When registering for an event, we will disclose your personal information for the fulfillment of the contract and the provision of the services to those companies.
Personal information and children
Our information is aimed at persons over the age of 18. TYROLIT does not knowingly record, use or make available to third parties any personal data of minors without the express permission of their legal guardians and of the minor insofar as she or he is able to give his/her consent. TYROLIT informs the legal guardians of which personal data has been collected regarding the child and provides the opportunity to prohibit further recording, use and storage of the child's personal data. TYROLIT undertakes to strictly comply with the laws on the protection of children.
