General

We are aware that the protection of your privacy is important to you. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and compliance with the statutory provisions on data protection is a matter of course for us. In the following, we would like to briefly explain how we collect, manage and use information about individuals.

Furthermore, you acknowledge that TYROLIT may amend, supplement, expand, remove or otherwise update this Privacy Policy from time to time in the event of changes to our services and in consideration of changes in the law. However, your personal data will always be handled in accordance with the version of the Privacy Policy that was in force at the time the data was collected. We will publish changes to our privacy policy here so that you are fully informed in accordance with Article 13/14 GDPR about the types of personal data we collect, how this personal data is processed and under what circumstances it may be transferred. Our data protection principles can be accessed from all individual pages of our website. In the places where personal data is collected, you will find additional information on the purpose of use of this data and, if necessary, an opportunity to declare your consent.

Collection of personal data

We do not collect any personal data (e.g. names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses) unless you provide us with such data voluntarily (e.g. by registration, survey, contact form) or - if legally required - have given your consent or the relevant legal provisions on the protection of your data permit this.

Legal basis

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data is the contractual
contractual relationship, including pre- and post-contractual obligations. Data processing only takes place with your consent or on a contractual basis and/or if it is necessary to fulfil the contract for the purposes agreed with you or if there is another legal basis in accordance with the GDPR.

Our business licence "Services in automatic data processing and information technology" is the legal basis for carrying out the business purpose. Other legal obligations, such as statutory reporting obligations, are the legal basis for data processing. We therefore process personal data if this is required by law or contract or if consent has been given. With regard to general advertising activities, we have a legitimate interest in making contact and intensifying contact with existing and potential customers.

Guarantee of privacy and personal data protection

TYROLIT complies with the statutory provisions on data protection, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In general, we only process personal data in accordance with these data protection principles. The following section explains how and when TYROLIT collects personal data. In addition, we may be obliged to process further data within the framework of the law to support judicial or official investigations.

Intended use of personal data

Most of the Internet services provided by TYROLIT can be visited without personal registration and disclosure of identity. For certain services, we ask you for your name, a user name and, if necessary, other personal information. You are free to decide whether to provide this information. Without this information, however, TYROLIT cannot provide you with the desired service in these cases and cannot answer some of your enquiries.

TYROLIT only stores personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described and in accordance with the statutory provisions. If you contact us using the form on the website or by e-mail, the data you provide will be stored by us for six months for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions, unless a business relationship is established anyway.

If you no longer wish to receive information, please let us know.

Confidentiality of personal data

TYROLIT will not pass on your personal data to third parties except in the cases mentioned in these data protection principles. Personal data may be disclosed to other TYROLIT companies in Switzerland and abroad within the framework of the law, which undertake to treat the personal data in accordance with these data protection principles and to process them in accordance with the purpose for which they were originally recorded, for example the provision of services, marketing, data processing or technical support.

Your personal data may also be disclosed to a third party if a business location or parts thereof with the associated customer data are sold, transferred or assigned. Where necessary and reasonable, you will consent to this. In such a case, we would contractually require the buyer or the acquiring party to treat the personal data in accordance with these data protection principles beforehand. Personal data may also be disclosed to a third party if we are required to do so by law, a court order or a government regulation under the law, or if the disclosure of the data is necessary in connection with a judicial or police investigation at home or abroad and is permitted under national law.

Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, cancellation, objection.

TYROLIT endeavours to ensure that the personal data recorded is always correct, up-to-date and reliable with regard to its intended use. We give you the opportunity to object to the processing of your personal data, insofar as the law allows you to do so. This applies in particular to marketing measures (right to object to advertising), unless these require your consent (opt-in) anyway. Please inform us if you wish to object to your data being used for advertising purposes. This also applies if you have any questions about the use of your personal data. In such a case, please state the name of the website on which you entered your personal data, identify yourself and let us know which specific information you would like to have corrected, updated or deleted. Requests for the deletion of personal data will be carried out in accordance with all applicable legal and archiving obligations.

You can find out how to contact us at the bottom of this page. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have been violated, you can complain to the supervisory authority. As TYROLIT is a Group company headquartered in Austria, you can do this with the Austrian or the competent national data protection authority in your country. Here you will find a list of all data protection authorities in the EU.

Security and confidentiality

To ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data recorded by TYROLIT, TYROLIT takes appropriate measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

If you wish to send us personal data electronically by entering it on our website, your data will be transmitted to our web server in encrypted form via a state-of-the-art secure connection (SSL) over the Internet, stored and secured. Please note that the transmission of data by e-mail, on the other hand, is generally not encrypted.

Data security for the transmission of data within the Internet cannot be fully guaranteed according to the current state of technology. Other users may be technically able to interfere with network security without authorisation and to control message traffic. Please bear this in mind when you contact us.

Data transfer to third parties/third countries

We are part of the TYROLIT Group, a global group of companies that owns databases in various countries. TYROLIT processes data in databases outside the country of residence of the data subject. Some of these databases are managed by local TYROLIT companies, others by third parties acting on behalf of the local company. If your personal data is transferred to a country whose regulations for the protection of your personal data are less comprehensive than those of your country of residence, TYROLIT will ensure that the legal requirements for data export to such a country are adequately protected and that European law is applied.

Which data protection principles apply?

TYROLIT companies that transfer your personal data from the EU to other countries must comply with the applicable laws and TYROLIT guidelines. In particular, they are obliged to do so:

  • collect and process your personal data by appropriate and lawful means
  • process your personal data solely for specified and legitimate purposes and not use it for other purposes
  • inform you about the disclosure of your data where required by local law and obtain your consent where appropriate
  • ensure that your personal data is accurate, complete and, if necessary, up to date
  • retain your personal data only for as long as necessary, unless longer or shorter retention periods are required or permitted by law
  • to treat your personal data confidentially and to take appropriate security measures to protect it from unauthorised access, accidental loss or accidental damage, misuse and unauthorised modification and deletion
